In 1990 I completed  a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Piedmont College with a minor in Secondary Education, and in 2003 I earned a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College.

The 2015-2016 school year begins my 26th year in education.  I taught high school English at White County High School for 13 years,  I taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grades for 7 years,  and I have spent 6 years of my career  in the supportive role of Academic Coach.  I really love the coach's role in an elementary school, because I am able to work with teachers, with parents, and especially with children.  Every day of my job is different;but, every day focuses on students and student learning.

I live just outside of Clarkesville in the northern end of Habersham County with my husband, Eric, my sons Tucker (18) and Carter (8), and our two dogs.  We also have a 20 year old son, Jake, who lives on his own.  We are a very active, outdoorsy family, and love to spend time hiking, playing with our dogs, or running 5ks as a family.
